1997 ws6 clone, better than ... for sale
97 Firebird Formula, started making a Ws6 clone and went past that , its better.
Red with black striping, not striping but a unique paint job. Ram air hood, no inserts yet.
LT1383 , 11.5-1, SRP NOS capable forged lightweight pistons. Total Seal rings, full floating on Eagle 4340 H beams. Eagle 4340 crank. H series bearings.
Splayed 4 bolt. Stock heads with 5 angle job, extensive port work, extensive port work on intake as well.
SVO injectors, .600 lift springs, 230/244 cam custom ground , .535/.560 lift 112 lc. Nice lope, great pull from 0-6800rpm.
Moroso cold air, accell opti, msd wires, msd coil not installed yet. Edelbrock shorties into 2.5 inch duals , no cats to pypes bullet mufflers, street pro series.
New a/c lines and drier. new waterpump. EGR and AIR there visually, NO REAR O2 hooked up, not deleted from PCM yet.
Ws6 sway bars.
2200 stall, fully built 4l60e, trans go kit, etc....shifts hard and fast.
Qa1 springs and struts/shocks 12 way adjustable, set up for a 1.5 inch drop
5 spoke chrome wheels 245/50/16 tires in good shape. They do spin though.
No dents or dings, nothing. Could use a little more cut and buff, but nice looking car. Glass all good.
Subframe connectors, adjustable panhard bought, not installed yet.
Grey interior is nice, minuse rear hatch carpet is ugly. Rest if I cleaned car would look great. Console not cracked, upper dash is, but have a cover. Tach on dash from previous owner, still dont know why when a big factory tach comes with the car stock????
Passenger window doesnt work, motor is bad.
Aluminum drive shaft with new ujoints. Poly tranny mount.
02 sensors up front are new, new radiator cap and coolant flush.
Motor has about 3000 miles on it, tranny same.
2.73 rear, posi. Still fast as hell.
Car is very fast, it pulls and pulls. A 3.42 would be amazing, 3.73 insane
I can include a new Harris Works NOS system for lt1 f body if askign price met, if not, will sell seperate for 400. NEW.
Sounds great and mean, almost like an old muscle car. Responds great and gets 22mpg. Has its flaws, but all the hard work is done.
Bad things:
passenger window
rear hatch carpet.
highway gears (could be a good thing depending on gas prices)
tiny oil leak somewhere on front cover (i resealed it all twice)you lose 1/8 quart by my first oil change.
Broke in on 30 weight, then once rings sat ran Royal purple in all parts. Changed it at 2500 after 500 mile break in, just to make sure no debris or anything. Was clean as a whistle.
Really a great car, I built it all and know you wont have any issues. I gave up on front cover leak believe the opti hole for the seal is out of round just a little. last time I sealed it put a little silicone on the seal and still a minor leak. More cosmetic to me than performance deal.
It never gets past 180, I mean never. Let it idle for 2 hours, dog it, whatever, it just doesnt get hot, and its been verified on my scanner and others. I had my own shop and did performance and restorations until last week. Have cancer and sold business and retiring for a while. Found a restored 73 Z and my love is the old second gens.
I never liked it being red, but kept it that way so if someone did, the original color wasnt changed. I put alot of black on hood , roof and deck to take the red away and it looks cool and mean. Imagine the lower half of the batman sign down the hood and the roof and top of decklid in black.
I can send pics, car will most likely be dirty, but you will get the idea. Too tired to wash it.
Oh it has an edelbrock strut tower brace as well.
Asking 7800 obo. Quite a bit of money in the car on parts that are just now broke in.
You would not be disappointed to drive it and could drive it anywhere.
