I think that fuel is leaded. I wouldn't do it.

pretty sure it will mess with the o2's. used to run it my old big block, but that was with a carb. plugs were always white, no matter how you had it jetted. smelled good, though.

The questions is also, are you modded enough to actually need that high octane fuel?

100 LL(low lead), which means it still has some lead. Lead will ruin your cat.
If you have a source for avgas, get the high octain unleaded.

As hot as it gets in Texas, a stock car might benefit from running race gas at the track (to combat the sensitive knock sensor pulling timing).

Re: 100 LL airplane fuel

Don't know how it would affect the rest of the fuel system, I meant you can run with no O2's thats no biggie or cat. As for fuel lines/injectors not sure. I think they'll be fine if cleaned every so often. Those airplanes are all carbed so no high pressure fuel injectors. On the other hand, you would think the injectors/pump will like it since it lubricates unlike regular gasoline.

Re: 100 LL airplane fuel

Yes, 100LL has lower levels of lead than previous aviation gasolines. However, its still has a large quantity lead. You will get a way with mixing it with the gas you nomally burn once in a great while. I would not make a habit. You would be better off using a octane booster or race gas. I have cleaned many airplane spark plugs. You would not believe how loaded with lead the plugs get with in 50 hours of engine operation.

A fairly common piston aircraft engine is an IO/360. That's Injected Opposed 360ci. engine.
The main difference between avgas and auto gas is what's called "light ends" avgas doesn't have many. If you took auto gas up to high altitude, where the ambient pressure is low, a lot of it would evaporate. Avgas doesn't evaporate at alt. as easily. It's additive package is different also, but it's still just gas and has been used by high performance buffs for years after the changeover to unleaded.

I stand corrected, yes jet fuel is kerosene (like diesel).

Re: 100 LL airplane fuel

I use avgas 100LL in my dirt track car and it works fine, but on a car with cats and O2 sensors it will cause problems.
