U.S. Nationals
U.S. Nationals
Anyone going this weekend here in Indy? I am going with my dad (never been) on Friday and have not been since like 2000. Should be a lot of fun and the weather looks nice.
Going to TRY and buy a piston or something if I can afford it.

Re: U.S. Nationals
Went on Friday, it was rather cold and windy. Went with my dad and indirocz28 and his girlfriend showed up later that night.
Got there around two and walked around the pits. Saw like all five or something crazy of John Force's trucks (not including his mechandise trucks). All the fuel teams had their motors apart and that was cool.
Got in the stands around 2:30 or so and stat there till at least past ten.
It was a little windy and high 60's-low 70's. Nobody seemed to care everyone just bundled up.
Watched John Force trash his motor and catch on fire a little. Over half of the fuel cars blew a motor. One of them blew the motor right in front of us and two red hot small chunks of metal flew up in the air and landed not to far from us!
Never knew those cars could be that loud. I was screaming at the top of my lungs at Force and could not hear myself.
Bought a signed rod from Tony Pedregon and a piston that Cruz trashed in Memphis (can still smell the oil and nitro on it).
My grandfater lives a few miles from Bandimere Speedway so I am going to try and go to the Mile-High Nationals next July and then the U.S. Nationals that next August/Spetember and try and go Monday for the Finals.

Yeah what a shock that was, first time ever at Indy and first time in 7 years at an event.
He did man up though and say he was worried about the other guy and not only worrying about just himself and blamed it all on him. Gotta respect that but like I say, a red light is all on the driver and his right foot. No other excuse but the drivers fault..
Next year I am going on Monday for sure if I can

Heard the Pro Stock wreck was pretty bad
