This thread is NOT for people to bash Speed Inc. I believe there have been enough threads that have ended up that way and I don't want my thread to get locked. I am tired of seeing all these posts about the unsatisfactiory work done by Speed Inc. and wanted to start a post for the people that are interested in taking their car to a reputable shop. There are two of us that have had work done by Speed within the past 6 months. Both cars are identical and put out AWSOME numbers. The dynos are linked below for reference.

I personally know of three different cars and have riden in all three that have had work done by Speed and all three are top notch! One guy has a auto with a CC 224/224 112 lsa that didn't put out the power that Speed thought it should. Instead of giving the guy his car back and being done with it, they ripped it apart again and put a different cam in it. Turns out the car is just a low dynoing car. My car personally had a tunning issue that was caused by ME. After my car was tuned the first time I changed my exhaust and it altered my tune. I called them up and they took care of me. I have personally recommended three different people to have work done by them and will continue to do so in the future. There is a reason that they have a backlog. With all shops, including GM dealers, mistakes happen. Its just how they are handled.

Speed Inc. is a great shop with good people and great customer service. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Its amazing how many cars they do and and are able to put out the numbers that they are. They are a sponsor on several on the F-body boards and have been so for some time. I recommend them to anyone that is thinking about minor mods to major ones. Don't let information that you read on the internet effect your decision to rule them out. Just remember, there is always two sides to what you read.

 

As with every shop in the country, there are going to be people that have had good experiences and bad experiences with the same business.
I have had nothing but good experiences with Speed Inc, and in particular Larry. I, as well as some friends, have e-mailed him numerous times with questions and he has always responded within a day and has offered to help in every situation. And a couple of them had nothing to do with purchasing parts from him.
I guess the only thing to say about threads like the ones here that have been locked are to take them with a grain of salt and that there are always 2 sides to every story.
And I guess most importantly, if you really want to be sure that something gets done right, learn to do it yourself. No one is going to take better care of your car than you. Then if something does break you have no one to blame but yourself.

speed inc does not have a clue about what customer service is...it was clearly displayed in their posts...

but i would strongly urge you to never get anywork done by this shop....
just my 2 cents...

 

I take it you can't read? Please again don't post if you don't have anything positive to say.

P.S. If they don't know what customer service is, then why did Tom call myself and another customer this morning to make sure our cars were running fine? Seems to me you need to let this go.

The truth is Stikshft98 is that you had better learn to work on your own car . Because of all this bashing that you do there isnt a reputible shop left in the Chicago area that will work on your car! All of these posts are just letting everyone else know what kind of fool you are.

Speed Inc are good peeps! Fedex tried to jack my wires I ordered from them and they got done what needed to be done. Some of their stuff is a lil pricey, but to me service makes up for it.

 

SPEED INC IS THE FINEST SHOP AROUND TOM CARES MORE ABOUT CUSTOMER CARS THEN HIS OWN. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT GOOD EXPERIENCES WITH THEM. EVERYBODY THERE IS VERY HELPFULL.

 

I've been doing business with Speed Inc since Tom was running it out of his garage in Hanover Park. That was when the LS1 first came out and he first started the business. Much like many here I too have spent money with them and know many of them personally. Jim, whom is a friend just tuned mine to the tune of 403rwhp. I run into Jon at cars shows like Lombard Cruise nights and I just know many of them in general. They are top notch and always go above and beyond what needs to be done to satisfy the customer.

But there are always some "difficult" customers to deal with that no matter what you do, will still find a way to complain. No names from other threads will be mentioned.

 

Funny how is it that all Stk****98 does is complain about Speed Inc. however he doenst want to face reality and realize that HE blew up his motor.....BTW Henry how come you didnt try to argue the fact (SINCE YOU BABY YOUR CAR) that there was 7+ bottles ran thru the car in less than a 4 month time frame?? Not to mention that you were spraying a wet kit. Didn't you ever hear that Nitrous is bad for your car, BUT OH WAIT, YOU ALREADY KNOW THAT NOW! Do yourself the favor and just SHUT UP already! YOU caused your motor to go, DEAL WITH IT!

Is a great speed shop i have had great help and service by email s and by thw work they did on MY z. I would highly trust them again they do great work and they answer your ? and dont BS they tell you exactly what you need to know, as far as customer service i had larry call my house a few times and email me to tell me that they had started and it should not be long till i get it back then i got another call and he said it was done and it ran strong i could not wait to pick it up. I live about 150 miles south of them and i have been there 2 they do great work on everything very attention to de tail in my eyes and everyone who has seen my headers and exhaust work plus my subframes they did and the routing of my plug wires. They were on the cover of the Last GM high tech i would like to any other ILL speed shop achieve that!!!!!! Larry and all his staff rock and that is all there is too it plus they are very educated on what they do and know.

its not bs....tom was right there when i walked in and there was **** on their system computer.....what else is their to say...

ban me for what??? telling the truth...if i was bull****ting i couyld see your frustration but so far everything i say is true.....and sure maybe we will never prove that they caused it but the things that were proven done wrong with my car should be out there for people to see how great reputable shops can be careless like no other...
