Good luck tonight at your "drag strip", hope you don't run 13's or quicker like at our drag strip.

What are the safety rules as far as people riding with you. How fast do you have to be in order wear a helmet. And if you are fast enough to have to wear a helmet does your pass. have to also?

lol, im not sure if you think i mean a real drag strip or if theres sarcasm in there.

As far as the "track" im going to, its one person in the car only!

as far as muncie goes, if you run 13s or quicker all occupants must have a helmet on

Re: Fun Fridays at Muncie Dragway.

haha ok.

In that case, only the driver is allowed in the car, and the track has already been prepped so theres no need for safety precautions!!

should be a fun ride!

Re: Fun Fridays at Muncie Dragway.

well last night sucked! The car was running really strong until we left to go to muncie and it started missing out. I've had some seals leaking in the timing cover and oil got into the opti. I didn't know it was still missing out until I heard my buddy drive it. Even with the problems I had, I still almost matched my best time. I ran a 13.57 @ 105.

How was everyone else's night?
I have a pretty funny story to tell later when I have time about my last run too.

Re: Fun Fridays at Muncie Dragway.

I saw your car down there but didn't get to talk to you. We almost got lined up to race later on but I ended up racing a grand am behind you. Sorry to hear about your car I was having trouble also. My new "built" trans didn't want to shift out of second unless I let off the throttle. I'm going to just install a manual vavlebody and shift it myself. But I ended up running a 13.1@105 on motor and a 12.7@111 spraying in second gear.

ltwonz, what kind of car do you drive? I think I was almost lined up with Marky mark the time they almost didn't let me go down the track.

For the Record. If your car is faster than 13.99 you can't have passengers. Even if they are wearing helmets.

Yeah sometimes they're not as strict as others. I raced a 99 TA he ran a 13.2 and I ran a 13.8, they told him he had to wear a helmet and not me. Needless to say he wasn't very happy about it.

I drive a red 93 Z with a bigblock hood and black wheels. I took a friend down the track with me ran a 13.2 and they never said anything about it.

damn, maybe we shouldn't of had our helmets on .
ltwonz, does your cowl have LT1 sticker on it? And does your car have a pretty loud speaker system in it?

If that was you, I was trying to get the girl riding with me to ask you what you had been running, but she was too shy.

It does have a black LT1 sticker on the cowl but as for the stereo it's stock.

Re: Fun Fridays at Muncie Dragway.

Sup guys......just got back from camp atterbury...(they called us up to do a week of training....such bs, but anyways) I totally forgot what your car looked like myred 93z, I had looked at your pictures, but kinda forgot the next day at the track...lol. I had a good time and ran consistent 13.6's at 102.xx mph. I ended up stuck on the staging lane though because I ran my fans for like 20 minutes with the car off and they killed my battery. Luckily someone in a mustang (go figure ) helped me out and called his buddy and got me some jumper cables......and then a guy in an import hooked em up to his car and my car barely and I mean barely started after 10 minutes of trying. The F-body's 2 arch enemies formed up to help me out.....they were both really cool guys. I may be going back some wednesday with a little weight reduction and try for 13.5 or a 13.4. Oh and it didnt really seem to me that they were really even enforcing the helmet thing to me.......because I would put it on sometimes and other times I didnt, but they never said anything. Oh and they were screwing up the lights big time on my last run.....I tried staging, but the lights were coming on, so I backed up and tried again and then all of a sudden both lights suddenly popped on and boom the green went. I ended up with like a 2 second reaction time cause I was stunned and just watch the gtp I was racing take off, then finally I took off and reeled him in and won by a car length or 2.
