Any Illinois guys running this setup?

LT4 Cam, ported lt4 heads, long tube headers? I want to run this exact or very similiar set up on my car but i dont want to do it if i wont pass emissions. Does anybody here in Illinois have this set up and passes emissions? Or this there a setup close to this that WILL pass?

I can't answer your question from experience but I have heard that the LT4 Hot Cam Kit will pass. I don't have to get smogged in Rockford.

As far as the LT4 heads go, you will spend allot of cash for them and they wont gain you much over ported LT1 heads (at least with this cam). I would save the money by getting a good port job on your existing LT1 heads instead of buying the LT4 setup and then porting that.

Just my $.02

Are your lt1 heads ported? WTF how come i have to get tested and you dont? I might as well go register my car in rockford where my aunt lives and i could basically run open headers

My heads are still stock. I might get them ported after the tax man comes but I'm not sure yet.

I know people in the chicago area that do have their cars registration sent to family & friends in Rockford to get away from the testing.

Well, another reason that you dont get smogged is because you are OBD II and they only hook up a computer to those cars. OBD I cars need to get smogged like everyone else. We OBD II cars are a little lucky in that regard.

Buddies with the hotcam have passed but you need cats.

Since your are OBDI you will be sniiffed and or put on the rollers.
