would this be stupid?

this is just a thought, but...http://www.paceparts.com/product.asp...1=353&3=165160 i am moving to college this fall and my car will have a little over a hundred thousand miles on it, and i will not have the cash to do anything while i am gone (for 4 more years). so i was thinking that the link above would be a direct replacement for my engine, and since i would have the engine out of the car it would be a nice time to MAYBE put some performance parts, such as the super six motorsports package,or maybe something else instead, depending on the cost. agian, this is just an idea and maybe a bad one at that. any ideas, should i go for it or not?

you can look on ebay and find low mileage L36 engines (3800) for around $500. also, look at some junk yards, but $2K is WAY too much for a new v6 engine.

in my opinion it would be a waste to get a new engine then add the supersix package.. but i also feel that the super six pack is a waste just because it costs so much to begin with

IMO "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

If you insist on doing it I think red blurs advice is good because you can get a slightly used 3.8l for a fraction of the price of a new one.

You should stick with the stock engine, it's got some life left. Yep, If it isn't broke, don't fix it but don;t let that stop you from putting performance parts on, I don't see any problem with that, 4 years is a long time, it will be worth it. If your engine does need maintainence later it's much cheaper than putting a new engine in.

thanks for the replies, it would probably be a good idea to keep it the way it is for a while. i might as well get as much life out of the engine that i can.
