Would this Exhaust work?

My friend had an 01 mustang, and he bought the gt exhaust and put it on, and it sounded great.

Now i have a 96 Firebird, and i want to know if i could put the trans am exhaust on it, and if it would sound good.

Thanks.

I heard a clip of z28 takeoff on a V6 (can't remember if it was 3.8 or 3.4). It sounded good, just seemed quiet.

You might have to do a search. Also search the firebirdv6.com's exhaust/intake.

I bought a TA cat back system and had plans of installing it on my ride, only problem is no one could figure out how to conect the
2-1/4 piping to the 3" piping so I eventulaly scraped it in favor of the Borla.

::Shaking my head at your choice of mechanics::

Yes the stock V8 will work. And the diameter is 2.75", not 3".....

Take-off exhausts are pretty good cost-wise since you can get the bigger I-pipe along with it. Personally, the take-offs exhausts are a tad too quiet for my taste and rasp pretty bad on the ones I've heard.

If you can get it cheap or free off a friend, I'd say go for it. But if you have to go out of your way to find one, I'd just go low-ball and get a cheap catback.

Don't waste your time getting the TransAm exhaust. You have to remember that it is factory and is restrictive. Just get yourself a nice cat back like Borla, Hooker, or Flowmaster.

I don't want..

..to pay an out ragious ammount of money for an exhaust system. I just want to have dual exhaust with quad chrome rounds tips, I dont' want it to be loud or obnoxious, i just want it to look good.
