worth the money?

worth the money?

is it worth the money for me to reprogram my 2002 3.8 m5? will i get anymore power? i know it takes off the speed limiter but if thats the only thing it does i dont want to spend $340.

are you talking about the Hypertech Power Programmer? For $275 www.texas-speed.com will custom tune your computer for you. their changes include raising the speed limiter higher than you need, adjusting shift points, increasing line pressure, deleting pesky O2 codes as well as some other goodies that net about 10HP/10Tq on a mostly stock car like yours.

I wouldn't do it yet...

I woudl wait till you did something like heads/cam, or a power adder before you start getting crazy.

If you are looking to change the gears i woudl reprogram for that.

You're not going to notice a worth while difference on your car, IMO. I'd get all the exhaust mods before considering tuning.
