ok guys-heres the deal-95 auto camaro, 3.4 auto. car drives fine, but it wont shift from 1-2 without chopping the throttle-or letting off completely until it shifts-all other upshifts and downshifts are fine, doesnt slip or anything under any circumstances-just holds first until you back down-not sure what it could be, check engine light came on once when i beat the hell out of it, but went out once it was shut down. car has 111k, owned by a little old lady since new-its had this problem for quite some time, but i just picked it up. thanks for the help. Mike

upon closer scrutiny it appears as though it skips 2nd altogether and goes right to third-skips it on downshifts as well? thanks, mike

Check your Transmition fluid level,

My old Z24 had that problem, sometimes it wouldnt want to up shift at all! it was choppy shifts and sometimes no shift, in turns the fluid washes to one side of the pan so it didnt have any then either, dry gears!
