Unhappy Windows....

I know this isn't engine related, but i figured i'd toss it in under the V-6 category. I bought my 2002 Camaro last year in August and the power windows have ran *** slow. The dealer tells me this is normal and they just needed some grease, but they still run slow. I've also noticed that my headlights dim at night when i decelerate from highway speeds (like on an off ramp). I'm concerned that it may be something electrical and really don't want to have to deal with that. Can you guys (and gals) let me know if this is normal (the windows and the headlight dimming).
Thanks to all!!!!
Kaz

Iv never heard of the headlight problem before.

Doesn't sound like the motor because they usually stop multiple times before the windows roll up all the way. I don't see how the regulator could brake on these cars, they are pretty heavy duty. Sounds like a bad electrical connection some where. Check the switches for good connections.

Not to be a *** but you say you greased them, you greased the tracks right?

the rubber seal may be binding in the runchannel

im not sure if the 2002 uses cable pullies or the sissor style window regulator, use a heavy heavy grease, not just oil or white grease. goop it on any joint, wheel track or part that moves.

if its an eletrical prob, then good luck with that

The 98-02s have the scissor type regulator and it's pretty heavy duty. The cable regulators are bad news.

Are you still under warranty?

If so, take it back to them and tell them that you want it fixed. If they say its normal, find another Camaro on the lot and see if its the same. Odds are it won't be and see what they say...

I used to hear "thats normal" all the time...my local dealership hates me. I used to raise hell there.

I have had problems with my windows....still not exactly sure what happened in there but it was like my driver side window came off track and my Passenger side motor is starting to go out I guess. My lights I will notice from time to time on accident, I guess that is when I am paying attention to what I am doing

Talking

Hey guys thanks for all the replies. About the grease...the dealer said they did it (put it in the tracks or channels). It is still under warranty and i'm dying to go back and give my dealer some hell (tried to buy a Honda from the same place and they screwed me, long story). I hope it's NOT an electrical problem (that would just be wonderful). I'll let you know how that turns out later this week.
Thanks again to all!!!!

I had the headlight problem on my 02 for awhile, came to find out it was the alternator, and your window may just need grease, that will dam sure speed them up, but if they are failing it won't do much.
