I know this sounds odd, but my car is an automatic, and the shifter goes into first if i put it there, but thats not the problem, what i want to know, is how come after the car is moving, lets say 25 or 30 mph, and for some reason you have to stomp on it, it really doesn't want to jump down into first, it waits soo long before it will finally, if it ever does. And if it does, it usually will pull 5k rpm before it goes back into second. I just wonder if my car is the only one that does this, or if its everyones, and if its like a problem with the brain or something. If it would downshift when it needs to, it wouldn't have to pull so many rpms.. My car is a 96, so it has the 4L60-E trans in it. So i don't know if its because its the first year they put the e's in them or what it is.

Anyone have anything they can input, like if their car does this, or if they know what causes it, or what might be wrong?
