help me, odd erratic/consistant idle

Long time since I've posted on here. Anyways, I've got a 95 3.4 maro, t5. For a month or so now it's been idling high(around 2k rpm) when I first crank it, everytime; also just after i take it out of gear to stop at a light. Wierd thing is I can tap the gas pedal(just touch it, not enough to rev it at all) and it will always go back to normal idle(1k) The only thing I know of that's really wrong with the engine is my crankshaft position sensor is broken, and kind of dangling(has been for a few months before this problem though) and I have a new one, just been too caught up in other stuff to put it on. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Lynn

my old 95, 3.4 used to have a slightly iffy idle when i first started, so i took out the IAC sensor (on the side of the throttle body, poisitioned slightly above, check your haynes manual), and cleaned it, that fixed it for me... hope this helps

pull the PCM fuse , put it back in , start the car... let it run 5 min .. turn it off, wait 5 min, turn it on again.. should reset itself.. turn it off then you should be ready to roll
