who would like a sweet swap site
Who would like me to build a website that Is dedicated to doing the v8 swap on a 4th gen. I've found there really isn't an excellent website out there yet that is real specific and covers the whole project.
I'm talkin a well organized site, with lots of details and actual facts not fallacies as to what is required along with pictures, and even videos of doing the swap.... along with some info on mods and some part numbers, diffs year to year, going a4 to t56,etc.
Give me feedback as to whether or not you would like this made, and also what kinda stuff you'd like to have on this site.
I'll build it based on what you guys want..... so lets get some ideas going.
specific prob areas you'd like info on, questions u'd like answered...whatever you can think of...etc

Re: who would like a sweet swap site
That would be awesome. Not that it's an easy task, and I'm not making it any easier by suggesting more, but....Talk about different V6's (3.4, 3.8) in relation to swaps and otherwise so one or the other is not left in the dark when wanting to swap to V8. Show rough cost figures and possibly suggest at what point in a particular situation should a driver halt swap plans altogether and just buy a V8 car to save money. Oh yea, and pictures/diagrams always help us dumb people .

Re: who would like a sweet swap site
no way, i dont believe that at all. esp if your v6 motor goes bad like mine did, if i sold my car not running it was worth nothing. for the motor i got with the mileage, it woulda cost me 5500 atleast to find a z28 and i woulda got like 800 for my car at best. buying a crashed z28 cost me 2700 and i easily will make around 1200 sellin the leftover parts after the swap.
this by far was the cheapest way into a v8.
a crashed z28 is really a great way to go, u got all the parts u need right there, plus a ton of parts to sell and make money off of.

Yes the easiest way to do a v8 swap is to buy a wrecked "donor" car. This way you have the kmember, engine, tranny, driveshaft, and rear end. It's how I did my swap.

Re: who would like a sweet swap site
Could I swap any Automatic Tranny into my 3.4? Or does it have to be in my F-Body's generation (93-97)? Should I look for a crashed LT1 at a local junkyard? Is buying an LT1 engine with tranny included a good idea?

Re: who would like a sweet swap site
BEST IDEA EVER!!
Yeah, that would definatly help alot of people. I've been thinking about the swap, but having a guide would be awsome. Hell, id even pay to access the site if its like you describe.

Definately, I am looking to do a engine swap next year...when I finally pay it off, I will be able to afford to put money into...so I would love to see what all is contained in the process...

Re: who would like a sweet swap site
I think it'd be a good idea for those type enthusiasts. I once thought about doing the swap to my 95 firebird 6 cylinder. I'd say list every single little detail that would be needed for someone who couldn't get a donor car as well as someone who had one and just needed to know what to rip off the donor. And set up a picture diagram for wiring as that will probably be a big concern of most swappers. Show pictures of certain plugs and sensors that will need to be changed and what not. Definatly a good idea to keep the no longer produced 4th gen Fbody alive and well on the streets.....with V8's
