Better in what way? The Edelbrock is probably a better manufactured product, and has a little more durability, but I believe a Flowmaster is cheaper. Flowmaster sounds better at idle, and is louder overall, where the Edelbrock is comparatively subdued (not to say that you can't hear it at all).

They'll both rust to hell if you live up north where there is winter and they salt the streets. My dynomax actually lasted 3 winters. Funny thing is that the muffler is rusted, but the rest of the catback looks great. Not even a hint of rust anywhere. I'm guessing the muffler must have not been aluminized steel even though it was marketed as "an aluminized catback." I'm about ready to throw in a Flowmaster 80 on there and I'll be one of the few who can truly say whether it is better then Dynomax. For now it's open Y pipe for me.

Hah! I ran an open Y pipe once... for about a week. My cat converter fell apart and clogged, so I just chopped it off with a saws-all and drove it around straight off the exhaust manifold for about a week. It was *SO* damn loud! The $45 I paid for a weld job and piece of patch pipe was well worth it

Edelbrock is not for our v6 cars.. go with flowmaster if you want nice mellow sound that will not drive your neighbors insane too much..

If neighbors dont matter, and you want even more sound and deep rummbling go with the SLP Loudmouth, they are dope from what I hear..

I personally have the flowmaster 80 series catback 17356 on my car.. i have audio of a before flowmaster / after flowmaster install on a v6 3.4L camaro on my website (www.v6firefury.com)

I kinda dont care to much for the sound of just a flowmaster muffler...
Add a cutout to that flowmaster and it does sound better..
but i think theres other and better options out there..

i have edelbrock, its much better than flowmaster. its a pretty nice setup...3 inch to the muffler and dual 2.5 inch outs, all aluminized steel. you'll need to buy tips and cut off the turndowns.

Nevermind the flowmaster. It's like half the length of my dynomax and twice the price. Since I'm doing the welding with a buddy, I'm not going to waste time trying to align the tips again and buy more pipes. At least I got me some flanges. Next time at the track it's open Y.

Opinions are cool, but your statement sure isn't a fact. If the flowmaster has the right setup, it will sound pretty good. I get alot more positive feeback on the flowmaster than the dynomax I had.
