I bet no one can figure this out!!!!

I have a friend who just got a hold of a camaro and the owner said that the oil had gelled and the motor started knocking. I have not heard of this happening and was wondering what could knock after a motor sits for 6 months and starts to knock. I think it may be a lifter sticking. What can be done to figure this out with out taking the motor apart. It is a 2.8 from a 1988 camaro. I have not heard the motor run.

If the oil is gelled....that means no LUBRICATION!!!

He can kiss that engine......GOOD BYE!!!

Bearing's....cam.....piston walls...wrist pins.....are probably all scored and torn up.

Lifters "tap".........they don't "knock" !!!
