My girlfriend has a 94, 3.4 liter and the fans wont kick on until you turn on the A/C. I replaced the coolant temp switch and was trying to see if it worked. The temp got a little over half and i turned it off because i figured that the fans should have come on by then. But then i remembered that my LT1 fans would not kick on til really late.... So does anybody know what temp they are supposed to kick on so that I can see if replacing the coolant temperature switch worked? If it didn't work, any ideas of why the fans will only kick on when i turn the A/C on? Bad relay maybe?? Any help appreciated.

not very technical, my answer, but i'd say at around the 'half' mark... when in traffic, it'll slowly climb up there, then come down, so i'm assuming then...

 

yeah mine did that for the first time ian a few days ago. at about 220

 

pretty sure its normal, when ur just sitting in traffic, as long as it comes down, and doesnt go above half, ur fine
