I have the 3.8 and am happy, I dont race it or ask too much of it and I do drive it hard every once and a while, it hasnt caused any problems yet.

I am sure the 3.4's are good as long as they have been taken care of (which is important for every used car)

Wow, thanks for your petty reply, i cant stand pompous jerks like you, i never said i was worried about people beating me i just said so that he doesnt feel like he made the biggest mistake in choosing a car dont get a 3.4, your just upset that you made the mistake of owning a 3.4 and as i recall all you did was cry and whine about how slow it was, hipocrit

look for a v8

the Lt1 is pretty much bullet proof unless you mod it or dont change fluids on time... and the thermo, change that too

occasionaly people overheat, usually modded and aftermaket waterpumps though. with an OEM pump your pretty much fine...

LT1 is damn close to bullet proof..

the opticrapper sucks but if you get a 95+ its not really a big deal

umm motors typically last over 150k miles so long as you dont go off spraying, throwing radical cams in and overheating the thing. They dont wear a whole lot or burn oil.

if you want to go fast or win races dont even bother with a v6
the LT1 can barely hold its own...
IMHO even a stock Lt1 isn't really all that raceworthy on the street...

Hmmm,I have never complained about owning a 3.4 in my life.I have been on here for years holding them up as great motors.Maybe you have me mistaken for someone else?Anyway, all I was saying to you (sorry if I came across like an @ss,I get tired of the 3.4 being dogged by EVERYONE) is that some people don't care how much HP a car has when they are shopping for girlfriend. They look for reliability and ease of maintenance. Both of which the 3.4 has in spades.Besides, 160hp is as nuch as a mid-80's Z28

not everyone is the same.

any car can be fast, just depends how deep your pockets are and how much work you want to put into it.

1-Too ugly,not enough sex appeal
2-Not true, common misconception that Nissans are more reliable. It all depends on how the car was treated.
3-See my explanation for #1
4-She's coming from a 3rd gen Firebird,a 3.4 will be FASTER than she's used to
Just my .02 on the issue!
