Removing heat shield?

I have a '97 V6 Firebird and I am trying to replace my spark plugs, but the only way i can see that I can reach them is to remove the heat shields on the exhaust manifold. The shields on the left side of the engine won't come off b/c there is no room for them to go anywhere. Anyway, maybe I'm doing it all wrong, but I'm sure someone else has had this problem.

Thanks

I am sorry, I had to laugh at that one...
Just I guess I'm just not used to seeing a ttt in this section because most of the stuff stays on the first page for a week anyhow...

I can't really help you because my V6 Camaro is a '94...and other than that they are V8's, but I can tell you I wouldn't think you would have to remove the heat shield, and that if you did, the heat shield should come off rather easily. They [the spark plugs] are a pain in the hinder regions to change on all of the 4th Gen. F-Bodies, but it can be done with the tool of patience.

ttt, I am still grinning at that one...
BTW, welcome to the board!
