Question What to get to gain mid-end power?

My brother and I went out to a huge deserted neighborhood, and raced each other. He was in my dad's navigator and I was in my 3.4 camaro. I had him for a while, but at about 70mph, he passed me. I don't really care too much about getting beat, but I still don't think a 7000 lb. car should beat me . I also raced my friends '93 jeep grand wagoneer (5.2L) and beat him
I have also been thinking about getting a posi. Would the only gain from that be better traction? Just wondering. Thanks for any help.

Cool

OK,first things first.Get a cold air intake.Any brand will be better than stock.Next you need to ditch that Flowmaster muffler for an entire cat-back.Sure the Flowmaster sounds good, but it doesn't give much of a gain in performance at all,at least compared to other performance mufflers.Don't think that just because you have a muffler now you don't need a cat-back.I thought the same thing when I had my 3.4 with a Terminator muffler. Then I installed a take-off SS cat-back and it really helped out with the 25-35mph "dead zone" that 3.4s have.Good luck.

yeah , ditch that muffler and get a catback exhaust, it will help alot . Also if you can get some headers that would be good for your top end also . But all of this stuff dont really help your car until you get your self some gears and LSD . Get some 3.42s , once you get that then your 1/4 mile times should really improve.
