What gears come in 02 3.8 Coupe w/ posi??

My friend has an '02 Camaro 3.8 V6 5 spd with the package that comes with the limited slip differential. I was wondering how you know what the ratio is. I know in Z28's you have to look in the glove box for a GU code. What about the sixes??? Thanks in advance.

nope. I originally thought I had 3.23's with posi. Not true. Then I thought I had a 3.08 open differential. Also not true. I forgot about my driver door being replaced once - with an automatic car. So I was reading the GU4 code (3.08). But all manual transmission cars came with 3.23's. Y87 or not we all still got 3.23's. Only automatic cars had 3.08's with a 3.42 option.

I have swapped to 3.42's now and added a take-off LSD. But if I had known I had 3.23's in time, I would have gone at least 3.73 and more likely 4.11's

Geez,Bliggida I just popped in here and Deja Vu.Just posted the same crud elsewhere,Ahh whatever.

Going from 3.08s to 3.42s is a big difference though. But yeah now that I think about it 3.73 does sound better now.

all 5-speeds came with 3.23s....

personally I like my 3.42s w/ 5-speed, not too harsh but decent gain.
