Post What am I limited to?

When I get all my short term mods(intake, exhaust, headers, pullies, and 160 thermo)on my 3.4, what cars am I limited to beating? Like say I pull up to a light and this vtec civic pulls up can I take him(hopefully so)? This could be an endless list or just a few but I just curious b/c I don't want to embarass myself.

Civics shouldn't be a problem for you, unless they're seriously modded which is rare. Most imports (not like supras, VR-4's, WRX's ect.) and V-6 stangs, Cougars, ect should be ok, correct me if im wrong.

Well , I also have a 3.4L camaro and I just bought headers , exhaust , CAI , and 160 degree therostat. It will all be installed on tuesday . But im pretty sure that civics or V6 stangs will not be a problem for you or me.Oh and with those mods im sure you should be in the low 16's or high 15's . If you get 3.42 or 3.73 gears you definitly should be in the high 15's.

Was it a newer Accord? I believe the V6s are in the 200hp/195lb tq range and they weigh a little less than an f-body.

Hey , what mods do you have ?? Im guessing you are stock because if you had intake , exhaust , headers , pullies , and a 160 degree thermostat , then you would of probly beat him by some car lenghs

I really wan to know if I can beat this kid I know's car. Its a newer VW Jetta with just the intake and fartcan exhaust, 18s(even though I know it doesn't give him power but he might have lost some), and he said he had a supercharger but after I looked under the hood it was those Ebay electric ones that hook up to your intake ?

I dunno, Im guessing it should be a close race. Just race him and find out , let us know what happens . If you dont have 3.42 gears then I suggest you get them.

Is it a 4 or 6 cylinder? The 4 bangers have around 100HP... the V6s are pushing 170-180ish and FWD. As long as you have a few mods intake/exhaust and a good driver then I don't see why you couldn't. Its always fun to bench race but you never know til you try Whats the worse that could happen? If you happen to lose then it will just motivate you to make your ride a little faster

Some of the newer V6 Accords are running 14's.

first off anything can happen on the street. but you cant say what am i limited to, becuase there are WAY to many veriable in a race.

most 4 cylinder asain imports should see your tail lights, most v6 mustangs will go down aslong as they are pre 98. dont worry about it just race, if you lose so what, you win some you lose some. in my quest to be KNOWN im my area as having a fast car, i have found out that is the car you drive not how many races you win.....well that doesnt hurt either. i just got my corvette, and its no slouch (around 320hp at the fly) but every one wants to know where my "tight" camaro went.

I beat my friend in his 2000 5 speed jetta (stock) its NOT the VR those would rip my ***. I took him the whole way even before I learned to lauch half way good. He may just not know how to race but I've rode with him he knows how to give it hell. The road wasnt marked off at 1/4 or anything but he was pretty far behind me at 80mph.

Once you do all of those mods that you have planned, you should be in good shape. The best advice I can give is to keep your car in good running condition. You have a 3.4 which means its a 95 or older so some of the newer cars have the advantage in less wear and tear.

Just have fun and enjoy but most of all be safe. Some dumb @$$ in a brand new Camaro (didn't even have tags) came up to me and started revving. Whatever...didn't even bother but he takes off like a bat out of hell...losses control around a bend and dips the Camaro into a ditch.

Now thats something to be embarrassed about, not about losing...everyone losses. There is always someone faster...
