I totaled my 1997 Z. The engine and tranny and rear are fine. My buddy has a 96 bird with a v6. What parts can I give him before they haul it off to the yard. My mods are:
SLP IAC
MSD Wires
G2 Cai
LT1 with only 82K on the clock and no leaks
Solid Tranny
BRM Strut Tower Bar
Lakewood Adjustable Pan Hard Rod
Hawks Brake Pads
SLP Fan Switch
Indiglo Guauges
Flow master Cat back
Jet Air Foil
I figure he should grab my PCM, Grab my suspension crap, he should grab my rear disks since he has drums.. My posi rear is 2.73 he has a 3.08 drum peg leg rear.

You could do an engine swap, unless the insurance will take it soon. Other than that, all the suspension will work just fine. The only problem you might have is with the STB not clearing the alternator of the V6 motor, but BMR sells that for cheap.

as for the rims and tires what and how are they?
I have the split 5 spokes, and looking to put something else on and my tires are near dead they are the original factory ones and pretty bald.
Jsut about everything you mentioned will fit his car fine, except the foil, wires(well wires are universal but not made to fit his car), and guages(v6 and v8 are different)
Also yours is a 97 so even more different then his 96, guages.
The exhaust should fit, may need some fabrication, but tell him to get a catco CAT, and have someone weld up two 45 degree angel S-pipe over his 2 90 degree angle S-pipe. Will really help him top end.
Pads will fit, fine well except the rears with his drums and what not, I say do the rear axle swap to save time, then have him save for some 3.42s, or 3.73s, besides he will get good mileage, and keep the odometer off on his car by running 2.73s, but he might hit the rev limiter, if he tries to WOT it.
Looking for a replacement? Something practical? or another f-body. I think you should get a v6 f-body then we can all race each other, sporty and practical, I know you are starting to settle down a bit now. Or maybe even a GTP
room for a baby seat.P.S. I half raced a white 98+ v6 with a loud exhaust, and some visual mods, I was keeping with him with ease, in a flat drag race I would have toasted him

p.p.s. I got my computer fixed, something was fecked with the hard drive, I bought a 200 gig one from Best Buy for $150, installed it as my Master, put XP on it, put all the drivers on it, had a problem for a bit with the internet, but it was an ISP problem. Either way I setup my old hardrive as a slave and been accessing data off of it, but get errors on some folders, but nothing that was irreplaceable. Thanks for the help, I think my old har drive jsut has some bad sectors, once I get the info I want transfered over I plan on formating it. Also I had some problems with my D: and E: drive reading, when I opened u my case I coudl see the IDE cable for it was a little chewed u had some exposed wires so I repalced it. Things are running fine

get the intake and heads, you can sell those
if you arent getting insurance $ for it part it out.
how bad is it totaled?
is the driveshaft aluminum? get that too
oh and the ECU thats an easy pull
if you plan on getting another 4th gen z28 Lt1 get all the sensors and regulators or sell the engine. or even do a engine swap on another car.
