Weird bucking

When the car is in OD and crusing at around 1.5rpm it'll start to buck a little and when i add more gas it'll buck some more till it either increases engine rpm or shifts gears.

The bucking feels kinda like a misfire, but i'm 100% sure it's not from the ignition system (i just re-did it from the coils to plugs).

I'm thinking it might be a fuel filter as the originial one wasn't replaced since the car was bought (it's at 9X,XXX miles). I did replace the filter but it's still doing it.

Re: Weird bucking

The torque converter is probably keeping the car in 4th gear, mine switches into OD around 50 and if it slowes down some it sometimes stayes their.

I think I need new wires too cuz I notice it doesnt seem smooth so I just push it down at those times enough to make it shift to 3rd.

Re: Weird bucking

doesn't sound like a torque converter to me, if it was it would be bucking like you are describing while taking off from a stop and slowly become less and less noticable until it goes away while you are speeding up. Could be alot of things, but if its a missfier it will throw a code. Take your care to auto zone and get the pending codes looked at and see if you have any pending codes in the computer and keep us posted.

Re: Weird bucking

I'm sure it's not ignition, i thought it was and changed the plugs, wires and coils.

I'm thinking something with fuel filter. Foreman at work said it could be the fuel system (cause the original filter was replaced at ~80k miles) or the throttle body(needs cleaning).
