Way to check if I have Airbags?

I bought my car used and later on found out that it was totaled and the guy did not tell me. Now I am worried that I do not have airbags since when I cleaned it last night, I found some glass pieces around the steering wheel creases and on the dash. Is there a way I can check it without hitting something head on to find out? I called the dealership and he quoted me close to about 250 to check it out and run tests. I think that is a bs price just to check it. Or is that the any option I have? Thanks!

I know the Air Bag light that flashes on start-up tests the sensors...I'd imagine (and hope) it tests the airbag too. I would assume no air bag at all would cause the light to not show everything was OK.

Couldn't you press firmly in the middle of the steering wheel and see if it caves in pretty far? I can press in about an inch on the middle of my steering wheel (which has the air bag in it).

If he sold you the car and did not disclose to you that it had been rebuilt and certainly, if he did not replace teh bags.. I would think you got a pretty good case against him.

I got bags if you need/want to buy some!

The guy told me it was wrecked, but did not say it was a total salvage. I found that out at the dealer when they tried to help me with my brakes. So now I do not have airbags because like I tried to honk my horn and felt like the steering wheel caved in. I checked it when I got home. I don't think it has any I think I can use it as an excuse to get a Z now. Just I feel ripped. But what can you ask for a 2000 camaro with only 21,000 miles for only 5,000 dollars lol. I got it like 6 months ago and now after this, its going for sale for about the same price maybe so maybe they can pick it up quick. Thanks for all the replies! I appreciate it.

LOL! You guys don't feel safe without em? Granted it is a small thing, but it anything could happen and I don't want to take that chance with the crazy drivers down here. So far my car has seen 3 accidents, all other people's faults. Luckliy 2 were from the rear and the other was my rear quaterpanel when someone did not know how to back up. I went looking around today and found a 99 Z28 with ttops and other goodies. Trading in my car and paying the difference of 5,000 some odd dollars sounds mighty tempting.
