V6 to V8 Will the 5 speed bolt up??

V6 to V8 Will the 5 speed bolt up??

I have a 99' camaro with the 5 speed. I am implanting a 383 stroker. Im wondering if the stock 5 speed will bolt up and survive??

no it wont bolt up and it definately wont live...teh T-5 is only rated to somewhere around 300 ft lbs...

ive looked into the same thing for my car and it wont be easy....you need a different bellhousing Or to somehow adapt the one u have, a new crossmember, shorten the torque arm, and shorten the DS....im sure $2000 could easily be spent making the swap....

According to GM, the 5-speed in the V6 F-Bodies is only rated to 250 ft. lb. of torque at the input shaft. I've seen some get MUCH more...but not for long.

Get the 6-speed. eBay is a great resource for stuff like that. Good luck!
