A friend of mine , as a gift gave me a 1995 Lt1 5.7 engine.Was wondering what needs to be done,have a 97 v6 camaro convertible 30 year edition.What kind of mods need to be done,will the tranny fit,how about the pc,will it work.Sorry so many questions, just would like to know if it can be done.Thanks for ur help..

Yes a lot is needed though. Hmmmm...if it is complete, like harnesses, PCM, ECM, everything from top to bottom, then it will be a lot quicker.

But, it is not very hard from what I have heard, it is just very time consuming. I do not think you need a new transmission if it is a 4L60E.

You will have to change the tranny, bellhousings are diffrent. Plus everything else listed on that site. If your not a wiz with wiring then could just try to find a 97 PCM and engine wiring harness to make things a whole lot easier, or else you'll end up with a big hack job. If you decide against the V6 to V8 swap you can just put the V8 in a gokart or something. Hell, imagine a LT1 powered dune buggy. *Droool*.
