Don't be so negative

Yes a lot is needed though. Hmmmm...if it is complete, like harnesses, PCM, ECM, everything from top to bottom, then it will be a lot quicker.

But, it is not very hard from what I have heard, it is just very time consuming. I do not think you need a new transmission if it is a 4L60E.

Re: v6 to v8 Lt1?

this site helps a whole lot http://www.tacreationsusa.com/3_4_3_8_v6_to_lt1.htm
and this one
http://www.hpsalvage.com/

You will have to change the tranny, bellhousings are diffrent. Plus everything else listed on that site. If your not a wiz with wiring then could just try to find a 97 PCM and engine wiring harness to make things a whole lot easier, or else you'll end up with a big hack job. Also I have an LT1 engine cradle for sale if interested, PM me for details.

If you decide against the V6 to V8 swap you can just put the V8 in a gokart or something. Hell, imagine a LT1 powered dune buggy. *Droool*.

Re: v6 to v8 Lt1?

Here are a few more options for you:

you could sell it to help offset the cost of a turbo set-up http://www.force-fed-fabrications.com/index2.htm

or a supercharger set-up http://www.rksport.com/product/p_010910283/view_detail

or a N/A set-up http://www.abbottracingheads.com/gm3800.html

or you could just keep it around and eventually drop it into a 3rd Gen F-body or mabey even stumble upon a nice 1st gen camaro to stuff it in.
