Question V6 Turbo question?

Don't know if this should be posted in here or the forced injection thread. But my brother has a '96 Camaro RS V6, we've posted here about doing an engine swap in it, but now have changed our mights since he would like to keep it as he bought it (and just saving to buy a '09)... But I did manage to get ahold of a Turbo (specs below)...

T04E TURBOCHARGER
* 3" INLET DIAMETER
* 2" OUTLET
* WET FLOATING BEARINGS
* 1/8 NPT OIL INLET

SPECS:
.57T COMPRESSOR WHEEL
.50 A/R COMPRESSOR
.63 A/R TURBINE

Standard T3/T4 Flange

We plan on getting the V6 rebuilt to handle some extra power, but I've yet to find anything on turbo charging a V6 camaro. I'm going to continue to look around on the web for more info, but I'd just like to see if anyone here has tried this. Plus we figured it'd be cheaper than a engine swap

Uggh a To4E on a 3.8 is.. less than desirable. Those numbers don't really match what I "think" you'd want. I post on fullthrottle, and run a turbo 3.8 myself. I or they would need more information to really give advice.

Some people do run E's, but most run hybrids, or T70's for the more insane of our group.

just bought a 2000 gran prix with the 3.8 turbo charger as a commuter car and also drive a 97 fbird with the stock 3.8... GM claims the HP increase is 40ish HP with the additon of the turbo but in my driving experinces I don't feel it nor belive it {of course there is the FWD issue}... I would say look for other ways to get HP like the engine swap to the 5.7
just my 0.2

Edited here... it is a super charger on the 2000 gran prix, my mistake

Are you sure about that, I drive a now stock Grand Prix GTP with the supercharger and my mother has a base Grand Prix GT with the NA 3.8 motor. After driving both, I can tell a huge difference in terms of power. The only way I could see your supercharged car feeling sluggish as compared to the base model is if the supercharger is very warm and the incoming air charge is getting heatsoaked.

FWD v/s RWD, both cars FEEL different, plus the FWD has more parastic loss from the drive line then the wheels (same engine RWD will have more WHEEL horsepower than the FWD)
