v6 problems in friends car..

Buddies car is not running very good. Problem just started happening recently. Car has high mileage about 120,000miles is 95 3.4 v6. Plugs were just changed and wires also. Car is not throwing any check engine lights.
Car is 5 speed. Car starts ok,idle seems ok.But when drive away it seems to have no power, its also is making a lot of vibration that wasn't there before. If you floor it it seems to run not too bad past 3000 or so and will pull to redline pretty good. The problem all seems to be off idle thru the midrange.
I suggested he should change fuel filter, 02 sensors and recheck plugs and wires. I think saw some occasional sparking happening.
The no codes thing is not helping either. I have scantools but not for v6s unless my hptuners can do 95 v6 cars?

HP tuners won't work on a 3.4 but a standard scan tool should. Has to be something pretty severe or emissions related to set an SES in the 3.4 so if it's missing the only way to check it is manually. If you suspect misfire run the car at night, you should be able to see spark with the hood open if it's jumping through the wire.
