V6 Insurance rates...is this bad?
V6 Insurance rates...is this bad?
I'm paying almost $800 every 6 months for Allstate. I'm over 25, my license has the "safe driver" on it, got all the deductions for ABS, alarm, air bags but I still feel like it's high. Car is registered in Tampa, FL and is a 94 3.4l bottom of the barrel base model.
Am I getting ripped?

Thanks gents, I guess I'm right on par with everyone then. Mine breaks down to about $130 a month.
Might as well pass this on for those that might not be aware. Last year I picked up a
CRX for $600 while I was doing some work on mine and found that by making it my primary vehicle my insurance went down. Believe it or not, it can be cheaper for a policy with multiple cars. It just depends on what type of vehicle it is.
I sold the CRX and now have the same old high rates again
Thanks for the replies everyone.

Wow!! That's really high compared to mine.
I pay $412 every 6 months for full coverage on my wife's 2001 Camaro V6. No deductable Comprehensive, 250 deduct collision.
I pay just $325 every 6 months for full coverage on my 1996 Firebird Formula (LT1). Same coverage as above.

I only pay about 80 dollars a month on my v6 camaro. Im 16, but I am also on my parents account. Thats for full coverage as well. We have 5 cars on the plan. Its really cheap, through Nationwide. My Dad pays like almost nothing compared to mine for his Chevelle for full coverage. Good driving records all the way around though, so..
I'm 22, turning 23 on Saturday and I pay $55 a month for full coverage on the Camaro. Once I have tags put on the T/A I'll be paying c~ $130 a month for both full coverage... I think most of it is due to the T/A being titled as a '93
I'm through Nationwide and I have one speeding ticket on my license but I have no idea if it was ever reported to the insurance company or not, it was over 2 1/2 years ago.

Damn, I guess I get off CHEAP. $665 a year, full coverage, $500 deduct for the Z28...I get 10% off too for the under 5k miles/year discount.
Coincidentally, I pay twice that for my Grand Am!! Thats because the way MA insurance works, they charge you based on where the car is garaged. The Z stays in a garage with about a 15,000 person, suburban type population. The Grand Am stays at my apartment, in a 100,000 person city. The Grand Am would be $750 a year in the same town as the Z...STILL more expensive than a 5 year older Z28.
Interesting, eh?
