SoonToBeLS1,

I don't remember anyone specifically asking your opinion of our cars. Better yet, if you don't have anything constructive to add, I'll make sure to delete every deemed offensive or inflammatory comment you make here.

In case you failed to notice, this is the V6 Tech forum and not your "mouth off about how lame we all are for owning or modifying a V6". If that's your opinion, so be it, but you will take it elsewhere.

Please don't make me be the bad guy here, because I thoroughly enjoy it and get highly addicted to stomping out trolls and jerks on this board that don't belong...

I'm sure that education you're having someone pay for is helping you understand this post, so I'll stop now, and hope reading comprehension is on the list of previous things you learned...

Thanks!

ok...i wasnt gonna post but this kinda did it.

nitpick #1- please please please get your facts straight. the 3400 never existed in the camaro. EVER. its a 3.4 RWD motor. the L32 - not the LA1 (3400). the 3400 has only ever been rwd. also - why are you comparing stock **** when this whole thread is about a modified car?

3.4/3800 v6 = bore and stroke options are almost non-existant unless you do an expensive custom job
you know **** nothing about the 3.4 - you can get oem pistons from TRW or a lot of other manufacturers, they are considered stock rebuild pistons, from .010 over all the way up to .040 over. without going custom.

3.4/3800 v6 = you need high boost to make any good power
[/qoute]

depends on what you consider good power. remember the 3.4L V6/3800 v6 are both lighter than the LT1- and therefore it takes less power to move the car. hence, 300 hp is equivalent to about 305-310 hp in a v8 (ricer math yes, but its about right..depends on weight, rotating mass, etc etc.)

3.4/3800 v6 = Bolt ons dont make much of a noticeable difference
dunno bout that. i just did heads and intake and i got an extra 40 hp / 40 tq.

3.4/3800 = Sounds like rice
3.4/3800 v6 = Internals are weak
well i wont say the v6 sounds beautiful cause everyones opinion of exhaust sound is their own - but as for internals being weak. is that why the 3.4L (l32) comes with forged steel connecting rods, and a nodular iron crankshaft - (the lt1 also shares this nodular iron crank and i see them making 600 hp all the time..with the stock crank) -- guess that means that all those LT1 owners should change their crankshafts out cause they are weak.

3.4/3800 v6 = burn alot of fuel top end if setup with a force induction. in the end you got a v6 with ***** that burns almost as much as a v8. whats the point of buying a v6 then? if you want to show v8's that they arnt the king of the roads get a damn turbo 4 cylinder car, atleast then your gas mileage will be better good.
um. some people (some) buy a v6 for economy and whatnot. there are also those of us that buy a v6 cause they have to (lack of funds) and then realize its a fun challenge to get it moving faster. those of us that do that, generally dont care bout fuel efficiency.

If drive train modifications dont have a huge effect than explain how a 250 horse power 4 cylinder car weighing close to 3200lb pounds runs so quickly with a 300 horsepower v8 in a 3500lb car?

I can give you a hint, it isnt weight.
read again above about weight to hp ratio. also. you are talking half out your ***. ill agree with some of what you say - and disagree with some of it. you can get (if you have an auto) a torque converter that acts as a torque multiplier..whereas any manual transmission car is limited to just a clutch (no multiplication there) - however, note that not all modified cars have auto trannies. if you think thats false (all modded cars do have trannies) well... you lowered yourself in my book to somewhere between that of a cockroach and spore mold.

Any car can be made fast, whether it has 4 cylinders, 6, 8 , 10, or none.
but we arent talking about the RX7..thats kinda in a class of its own (geeze...is this guy a ricer too?)

but modifying v6 f-body or mustang is dumb for the fact a v8 is optional and swapable.
thats your opinion - dont force it on the rest of us. beginning to think this is 93firebirdv6 from the forums over at camarov6.com

Average price for a used V8 96-99 with 40-50k miles, $11,000-$12,000

Average price for a used V6 96-99 with 40-50k miles $9,000-$10,000 [/B]
heh. yes. and where are you getting your figures? please provide sources when you supply facts. cause seriously, i have yet to see ANY 98+ ls1 that goes for less than 15k with only 40k miles on it. seriously man (i live in CA - the communist state)

please...grow a brain. dont post here anymore with your crap. thanks.

(idiots..sheesh..)
