URGENT! Please help!!!
please help!
i ordered an american thunder flowmaster for my 1994 3.4 camaro. it was supposed to be installed today, but the shop called and said that my catalytic converter was no good and was causing the rattling sound in my car (it does rattle). my friend tim said the rattling is most likely the heat shield being loose or something.
the body shop said they would replace the catalytic converter for $100.
is the shop taking me for a ride b/c i'm a girl and don't know as much about my car as i should? or is there a real possibility that something is wrong with the converter and then is $100 a reasonable price to replace it?
(sorry for posting this thread again - but differently - it's really a diff topic than the one in the f-body lounge - but i'm *freaking out* like you would not believe and ready to puke, thinking that my body shop would do this to me, considering that i'm a struggling college student and it took half of a summer for me to save up for the flowmaster itself...)

$100 isn't too bad see if you can talk them down to $80, say you ahve tlaked to some people online and they said they got there s done for $80.
The CAt itself might cost $80 depending on what type they use, and $20 installation ain't too bad. And if its original it most likely needs to be replaced.
