what exactly are underdrive pulleys and how will they help my car out?? will i get better performace out of my 3.4?

 

Underdrive pullies affect how much power your accessories take off of the engine.A good way to tell how much they help is to turn the AC on MAX and the fan on HI and floor the car from a stop.Then turn off the AC and fan and floor the car from a stop.The difference in acceleration is about what it felt like when I put pullies on my '95 3.4.Good luck.

They take power from your alternator and water pump and send it to your engine. Run about $50+- depending on where you get them from and what percent of takeoff.

If you have a system in your car you will have to upgrade your alternator(your stock one is a 105 amp)

I haven't had the chance to get mine on but I have talked to some others that have and it will give you a little more power at your launch. A couple horse difference is all that you can hope for, honestly you probably can get better mods for your money.
