Turn signal question

A friend has 98 Camaro, but recently whenever he tries to use the right turn signal it gets "stuck" - ie it doesnt come on and the arrow indicator in the instrument panel stays on but doesnt blink.

is it a fuse? bad bulb?

I would check the bulbs first, a burnt bulb will cause it to do that. If it's not a bulb then it's the flasher, I bet it's a bulb though.

The easiest way to reach it is to take out the headlight. When I first heard this I though, that it'd be a lot of work. Turns out the Headlight is bolted in with a single bolt. Once the headlight is out it's really easy to reach.

I had/have a similar problem. Mine was doing that, so I replaced all bulbs, the blinker relay/flasher, the turn signal switch, the fuses, and the sockets, before I finally figured out I have an electrical problem of some sort. Sometimes all of my blinkers will work, sometimes only one will not work, sometimes my dash arrow wors, sometimes not, either way, with an intermittent electrical problem, it's hard to diagnose. I hope yours is just a bulb. We have come to the conclusion my car has been under water before, with all of the rust, condensation, and eletrical problems.

Look at the car with the lights on. Inside the turn signal housing should be two bulbs. Keep in mind though, even if both bulbs are lit, the turn signal bulb has two "filaments". It might be lit, but the bright part might not be coming on. The blinker/flasher "high" is burnt and can cause the unit not to blink.

Try the hazards, if the arrows on the dash blink, it is likely the bulb.

Climbing under the car, removing the splash guard and all that stuff is not fun. If I'm down there replacing a bulb, I make SURE it is the bulb before I do it.

what about

I am having a similar problem as well. My right turn sigal is fine but the left one is jacked. When I try to use it the front left turn signal light comes on and stays on and it is the back one that does not come on at all. The left brake light is also out. So is it jsut the left tail light bulb you think? How hard is that to replace?
