Post tight steering

My girlfriend just bought a 99 camaro. the steering seems to be very tight and hard to turn compared to my 99 z28. is this normal on these cars. the car only has 24000 miles so i dont think the pump is bad any suggestions...

My sterring is tight, verses other cars.I love it,just recently put a new pump in was worried the new woulnt be tight like the old.It was.
prob. normal man, dont worry unless theres pump whine involved.
Who wants that loose, floaty, easy to steer feeling anyways? be happy. Tight is good for me,coarse peoples prefferences are dif.

There is a different steering ratio between z28s and v6s.

I ma not sure ont hte numbers but it is different, unless the car is a Y87....

mine wasn't bad but was tight but my pump was leaking on my '99 so it was replaced under warreny and it made no difference in the feel.
