Is there any need?

What i have is a 2.8L bored 30 over and a crank turned 10 over. Stock heads, stock exhaust, stock fuel injection. Is there any need to get a bigger cam if everything on this motor is stock except the pistons and crank? It would also have to pass emmisons.

Well, a slightly more aggressive cam would make a noticable difference in power, but to fully take advantage of it you should port your upper and lower intake and at least port-match the lower intake to the ports on the heads. A full exhaust would also take advatage of the better breathing that the intake and cam would provide.

Shop around, there are a lot of aftermarket cams out there for the 60 degree v6's.

Check out www.60degreev6.com for tons of info about your engine.

You should just swap out your 2.8 for either a 305, or even better, a 350. You'll probably end up spending less money that way.
