Taylor Wires question
Taylor Wires question
I'm supposed to be receiving my Taylor Spiro Pro wires and NGK TR55 sparkplugs from Thunder Racing tommorow. My question is, I saw in the photo of the wires on the website that only one end had 90º angle boots, did you guys use the 90º on the plugs or on the coils (or both). Also, I bought the 500º firesleeves for the wires, do i still need to put on the metal boots that came from the factory (will i get any benefit from them)?
thanks,
Mark
oh yea, its not to bad changing the plugs, I took all the plugs out while I waited for my order of supplies to come in. Took me 3 days but I only worked 2 hours a day and i've never done it on my camaro before (I also had some crappy tools and broke 3 swivel joints). Just be patient (that was the benefit of doing it over 3 days, whenever I got pissed I just stoped and came back to it the next day and it was alot easier when I had a clear head).
thanks for all your help!

Re: Taylor Wires question
Both ends will have 90* boots. The ones that go on the coils are black, and the ones that go on the plugs are thick red boots. I didnt use fire sleeves, i used several layers of loosely wrapped aluminum foil.
I put back like 2 or 3 of the metal stock boot covers, but its tough to get them on the taylor boots, so the others i just said f-it and they are fine.

Re: Taylor Wires question
from what i understand, the 99 and older 3.8L dont need additional boots, as they have the heat protector over the exhaust manifold... its the tubular ones which eat up the wires, as they dont have this heat shield...
i may, however, be wrong
