Checked on it last year.

The local shops said there was a liabilty with it, so no one would do it.

Its wierd I have been on this message board for a while now and until a few weeks ago I never knew a conversion existed, then all of a sudden a bunch of people started talking about it. ANYWAYS...all the posts I have read the people installed the conversion kit themselves. T-tops are kinda cool but I think you would be disapointed especially if it does cost 2k to get them. When I got my first camaro I took out the t-tops every time I went driving but it got old real fast. It takes a few minutes to take the t-tops and put them in and if your only going to be driving for a few minutes...

Wink

It costs $450 for the stuf and an afternoon to do yourself. There is no way in hell that I would pay $2000 for T-tops.Just buy the conversion kit from E-bay or www.speedautomotive.com and then print out the directions found at:

http://www.geek-racing.com/curt/T-top_conversion/

and

http://www.dw-zone.com/t-tops/t-top.asp

Then take them all to a local sunroof shop and get them to do it.I can't see it being more that $900 total.I had the GM dealer quote me $1200 here in Charleston about 3 years ago.Good luck.

I must disagree about the t-tops getting old. My 98 has stock tops and I love them. I take them off almost every day in the spring and fall. Of coarse they must stay on in the summertime due to the Texas sun, but they live in the storage spaces most every other time. Tops off is the best way to go in my opinion -

As far as T-top conversions, a body shop usually wont perform a conversion. Their job is to return cars to their stock configuration. Find a custom shop, they'll do it no problem.

As far as the t-top issue. They gotta be out when ever the weather allows. I take mine out if i'm going on y than a five minute ride. Just How hard is it especially if you a fourth gen? I understand third gen guys with the bag, not wanting to take then out all the time and 2nd gen guys too. The two little rails invite the t-tops into the trunk on a pleasent day.
