Sub Box + Rear End Weight

I know the extra 60-80 lbs I have in my trunk is a negative because of weight. But how much do you guys think it helps with traction? I'm trying to see if I want to keep them cause I like the sound, or get rid of them for better performance. I'd imagine that 60-80 lbs right over the rear axle probably helps a bit with traction, as well as moves the center of gravity towards the rear.

it does help with traction quite a bit and it dont slow you down much at all

i had 3 15 lb twelves and a 36 pound amp plus like a 40 pound box in my car and only ran 15/100'ths of a sec faster at the 1/8th mile without em cause of less traction

I remember when I had mine in the back I used to be able to only spin through 2 gears (in rain) and then I took them out and tried it and went through 4 gears spinning (in rain).

Mine probably weighs around what yours does

They will help with traction. But it will slow you down ever so slightly too.

For every 100 pounds of weight you add you will go a 10th of a second slower in the quartermile.
so 50 to 100 pounds if fairly harmless.

That means if you use to run a 14.4
Now with an awesome stereo to boot, you'll run a 14.5

Yeah, I think I'm going to end up keeping the equipment in. Right now punching it off the line (K&N and other induction ****, FTRA / Whispier lid) really gives me some good throttled reponse, so they'll still spin like crazy...probably less than if I didn't have the stereo though.

It sounds fantastic! I've heard $1000+ systems in other peoples' cars and this matches them just fine (especially with this Monsoon system). It's American Legacy 2 rated at 1600 watts, and Pyramid Hyper Pro's rated at 1000 watts. These are way over rated. Realistically, we're talking 1000 RMS for the amp, and 500 RMS a piece for the subs - which is a ton!

I give them 100% approval, especially for the price!
