Just about a week ago my oil pressure guage started acting crazy. When I start the car it shoots up to 80 and then rops to around 40, then as I accelerate it goes up like a tach would. I just changed my oil and I was down about a quart or two. There is about 4.25 quarts in there right now and a new STP oil filter. I am guessing my guage is broken or a sensor is since the car runs great. Where to start?

 

I don't think it is your sensor...

...if you car was a quart or two low, there is a problem there.

 

Yeah probably not the sending unit. It could be that the oil low. Other than that you must remember that these gauges arnt exactly the most precise things ever made, there more of a novelty.
