a/c problem 2
a/c problem 2
okay so i dont get a good rush of air through the a/c vents on the dash, I can feel hot/cold are when the heat selector is changed but it seems that i only feel the air if im driving around 65mph+ if im idling you can barely feel anything comming out of the dash. Also last time i checked my a/c clutch doesnt engage. Changing the fan speed doesnt seem to affect anything. Anyone have an idea? bad blower motor? the fuse is fine.
Could also be the ac check valve. Search for this in the LT1 forum for a pic, its located on passenger side under the hood near the firewall, looks like a a little T. Usually its black or Grey plastic. Also check the vacumn bottle on the bottom of your car.
i hooked the vac tank thats under the driver fender back up and its holding I assume cause the cruise control works. Ill have to check the check valve out. is there a way to test it or just cheap enough to go buy another?
okay, i replaced the check valve cause the other one you could blow through all the passages on it and the new one you couldnt, hoever after hooking it up there was no change in the a/c working. whats with the "resistor block"? when i pulled it, it just looked like a bunch of springs. But what should the resistance be at the motor?
well my blower motor was bad so i replaced itm but i only get air out of the defrost vents. The ac works now because the fan speed selection works and the air comming out of the defrost is very strong, however i dont get any air through the dash no matter what selection i select. I replaced the check valve but still no air front the front of the dash.
ok can anyone tell me if this is how its supposed to be...the air wont come out of the front dash vents until ive been driving around a while, but when it does it works really well. But will come out the top at anytime.
Still sounds like a check valve issue. I went through so many of them, they started to give them to me. I would put a new one in and it would crack in about 2 hours. Could also be a vacumn bottle reserve issue, if the pressure isnt building for a while. Check the check valve again, Even if you cant see any cracks or leaks in it, you could try what i did, wrap the valve with electrical tape and see if it makes a difference. I just left the tape on it because it solved the problem.
