Just put a new water pump on a 97 3.8 firebird and it drove fine for a couple of days without overheating but now it gets hot real fast and there is a leak at the coming from what appears to be the back of the motor. it is dripping off of the starter. Has this happened to anybody? Where in the hell can the coolant be coming from?

update.....
There is coolant around the driver side valve cover so i have ruled out the head gasket. new question, on the back side of the motor where can the coolant leak from where it will run down the valve cover???

Sounds like it is coming from the weep hole...

 

Where is the weep hole?

 

Freeze plug? That'd be my guess. They are small round inserts located on the block and on the cylinder heads. Not hard to identify you'll know one when you see it.
