Spark plug wires
Spark plug wires
Hey guys I bought a set of Bosch platinum +4 plugs and I also want to get a set of performance wires. However I'm not sure what is the best kind of wires to get. So somone help me out and let me know wut would be the best kind to get. The only thing I want to make sure of is that the wire set will come in the color red cuz my theme is pewter metallic and red. Thanx buys!
Just my two cents. You may want to reconsider using the Platnium +4's. The recommended gap is .60 and you're not supposed to gap the Bosch +4's. If you look at them when you take them out of the box, they only have @ .30 gap. I installed the +2's in my car and it ran like crap. Maybe other people have had better luck with these plugs, but I just thought I'd let you know how my situation turned out. I ended up wasting $25 on plugs that I can't use.
Nope, i had those bosche platinum wires and they sucked. I had to burnt wires and i couldnt get a set of factory wires so i was given the bosche wires. The car liked them on the ride home. Later that day it began to backfire and stutter all over the place. The car ran better with two burnt plugs than with the bosche platinums. I'd take the stock wires any day over bosche wires.
I've heard about three bad experiances with the Bosch +2/+4s for every one good experiance. I don't believe those plugs are worth the extra cost. Unless you have major mods or are blown or juiced, the plugs won't make a big difference.
As for the plugs, I'm running Taylor Spiro wires. Again, you won't see any "gains" but I feel more comfortable with them than the crap stock plug wires which crapped out twice on me. And they're nice and blue...matches the wire looms.
