Is this the "SPARK PLUG" Problem?

Hi, any help from you all would be great

O.K. So here's the description of my problem.

I have an Automatic V6.

If I'm in PARK or NEUTRAL and I hit the accelerator, at 3800 RPM
the engine starts to jiggle and dance and the tach won't hit 4000 RPM. However, when I'm driving in the city or highway I don't have this jiggle problem and the RPM will go past 4000 to red before changing gears

Any thoughts

Thanks

Nothing wrong with your car. Thats just your rev limiter kicking in.

Cool

I guess I never noticed it before. But what about when people show off their engine by pushing the throttle, their rev limiters don't seem to kick in.

Anyways, thanks for the help

what cars are you talking about??? You can chip it, and get the rev limiter off. You can get them anywhere.

Most sports cars dont have rev limiters. Our v6 f-bodys do unfortunately along with a speed limiter.

i certainly hope the rev limiter is not at 4K rpm.

have you pulled codes?

im having issues myself, and goin through this same sorta deal. ive narrowed it to ignition related, but that is about it.

is it the same hot or cold? ignition parts on the outs often tend to show their problems once they get physically hot.

just my two cents. good luck.

In park and neutral my V6 Camaro was the same way. It's not good to rev in park and neutral anyways.

im pretty sure thats the rev limiter.
Why would you need to rev the car up past 4k anways, sounds like a freakin honda past 4k.
Maybe gm did that to protect our domestic ears from that horrible sound.

Yeah, your right, whats the point of reving in neutral or park?

The only reason I did this was in the winter time. I store the car during the winter season. Every couple of weeks I'll start it up and play with the trottle. When it happened this past winter, I blamed it on the cold. But when spring hit a friend of mine was egging me on to roar the engine. When I did it, the engine jiggled at 3900 rpm.

Well it doesn't sound like the spark plug problem.
