Angry Slaughtered

Gerr WTF??? I hate turbos, takes no ******* skill and any retard can freaking drive a 4banger turbo. ahah Just venting a little, got shown up by a friggen crapy saturn (beat me by half a car, on a little less than a 1/4 mile track) sadly I knew he would with that light saturn.

So this leads on to my question... . what is a good size exhaust for a 95 3.4 m5 firebird (2.75 or 3?) what I have planed for it: get LSD mabye some higher gears, and change wires / plugs (haha I think they are stock), already have a CAI. Is their any other things that I can do to my car that will help out (keep in mind I am only 18 so I dont have too much money :P) and was thinking nitros or in a few drop a lt1 mabye even a ls1. Well their is one thing my friend cant beat, that is the awsome look of a firebird with t-tops Gerr I love my car.

Ps in a few days I will have some pics of my car 4 you guys

I would do plugs wires and normal maintenance since all 3.4Ls are considered old.

Next I woudl do exhasut, I would go with 2.75 in. not sure if 3 in is too big yet, may want ot replace the CAT to since once agian all 3.4L are pretty old

gears and lsd make a big difference too.

YOu will be taking him again.

I beat a saturn not too long ago, funny thing was he had springs, shocks, sway bars, cams, header, full exhaust, intake, chip, and sticky tires, and I got him by 2 seconds on a autocross course

welcome to the board, but you gotta realize that there will allways be a faster car, and cars with turbos, can be very fast, especially if they have a bunch of sheet done to them. dont let it get you down.

and on a turbo note, it is not that easy to drive a turboed car, especially if its a stick, you will be driving it and then when the turbo starts spooling bam the engine revs really fast , i have driven my friends turboed probe and let me tell ya its really hard to get used to.

it sounds like you have some good ideas for your car, just use the boards to your advantage , see waht others have done and see what you like,

as far as the 2.5 or 3 inch I pipe - i got one from a Z28 along with a dynomax muffler used for 35$, i would sugguest trying to find some Z28 guys and ask them if they have any stock stuff sittin around

as far as a engine swap goes - an LS1 is going to be EXPENSIVE, you can probbabbly find an LT1 for a decent price

Welcome to the board

I am going with cam and true duels 2.5 or 2 1/4 pipe along with some home ported heads, cam, 1.6 rockers and ported exhaust manifolds on my 3.1.

Talking Turbo is your friend.

You WILL be beaten and you WILL be beaten by cars you think you can take. I mean, what do you expect if your car is all stock with the exception of the CAI and his car is blown. BTW, what else did the guy do to his car? If he turbo'd a Saturn, he must have done more stuff....never heard of a turbo Saturn before but then again I don't follow Saturns too closely.

Do a search and you'll find a whole bunch of posts on suggestions on what you can do for your first couple of mods.

Don't worry about getting beat...everyone gets beaten. Hell, last night I was in the Stealth and a frikkin Viper came up next to me. I know I wouldn't win but I tried anyways. It was kinda fun....

If you plan on modding you 3.4 for the sole purpose of being the "fastest" on the street......don't waste ya time.

The 3.4 will virtually never be the fastest thing in town, and if you are racing a blown car, forget about it.

Mod it so that its not a dog, and you can have some fun, but don't expect miracles.

Not trying to be a$$, but just being realistic.

I can't remember who said it, but it goes a little like this;

"Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. And at the worst possible time."

It always seems like the ONE time your friends and fellow club members are watching, you get smashed by the little primer-colored Honda w/ the cheap wal-mart rims, aluminum wing and a twin turbo'd 2.2 Only thing I can say is that you WILL lose races. Even the mighty LT1 and LS1 Z's and TA's have been humiliated by cars that they should have been able to beat.

Hey all thanks for the info, the thing that made me mad was his turbo was jacked up and when I drove it, it was dead... I knew this and was just trying to **** him off but he ended up pissing me off because he got it fixed the same day we raced and surprised the s#$% out of me and yea I don’t expect my car to bust miracles, but I do wish my car was actually a 3.8 like I thought it was :P(my dad lied to me and got the slower one with my money haha still happy with it tho) for all you that are wondering I think the saturn is doing about 120-130 rwhp and is about 300 pounds lighter than my bird,( should I have lost? :P ) but I have seen a loss in power I am thinking it is due to the old wires/plugs. . any suggestions on what kind?

Bro -
no offence but all the mods in world short of forced induction wont help you. V6's respond to mods like crap.
FWIW my friends 5spd v6 got slaughtered by his dads silverado with the medium size v8 and 4x4.
He sold it to his brother and got a vette

For looks they are great, but if you going to mod, save you money and just buy an Lt1

and dont do a motor swap, motors dont "drop" in...
you need a new tranny and rear end, cooling, wiring, and more **** that you could ever imagine.

PS
a Z28 on the V6 sounds SICK!

Have you actually seen the turbo under the hood? Do you even know what you're looking for? A turbo'd saturn should be putting out more than 130 fwhp, have you seen the dyno sheet? He could just be telling you some made up number. You said he beat you by a half car on almost a 1/4 mile. No disrespect, bro, but if that thing was boosted he would have destroyed you. If you aren't sure about his turbo setup, then it is quite possible you got waxed by a stock saturn. 3.4's that arent tuned well and maintained are SLOW AS HELL.
