this site sucks
Nope, just read some of your stuff in the lounge a while back. Haven't seen a lot of posts from you, but good to see you back.
LOL! No wonder he thinks the site sucks. He gets one response on an automotive forum and the suggestion is to take the car to the shop. LMAO-WTF. If he wanted to go to the shop he would have done so already. The assistance on this site does pretty much suck. If I am asking a question on here it is because I want to troubleshoot the problem, I don't want to go to the freaking shop - obviously! It seems like 90% of the answers you get are check this post and did you read the older post yet? Of course I didn't read through all of the other 500 posts on the topic (I tried as many as I possibly could that made sense and didn't tell me to post somewhere else or tell me to go to the shop). A little organization would help and the sticky misfire post - are you kidding me? That is supposed to help people. A post that reads change your spark plugs. If that is the answer for the misfire why are there ofter 20 pages of misfire issues. That clearly didn't help anything. This site IS HELPFUL and I cannot argue that. However, if some of you would be a little more helpful and avoid posting pointless crap about seeing a mechanic or complain about where the post is posted it might help. If it is in the wrong post send a MOD a message and have him move it or answer it - god forbid it is answered before it is moved. Yeah, people should have some sense but that isn't always the case. Try to be helpful and maybe you wouldn't have people posting these threads!
Wow. If you don't like what you hear move on.Most of the people on here are trying to help. Sometimes it is cheaper to take your car to a shop and get it fixed rather than spending $300-400 on throwing parts at stuff and still not getting anywhere. A misfire is something that is not a simple do this and its fixed kind of thing. There are literally hundreds of possibilities. I am on here mainly to help other people with thier cars. I am not on here to sell stuff. There are too many people that ask whats wrong and give no info. I only want to help. If i tell you to take it to a shop it might be something that would be easier fixed or diagnosed by a shop before you waste money. I said in alot of posts get it diagnosed then take it home and fix it yourself. My shop does a gaureenteed diagnosis for less than a $100. U can take the car home and fix what i say. If it doesn't fix it you get your money back. I read on here and talk to way to many peopl that pm me and say i spent 2 weeks and over $1000 to fix a misfire and after taking it to a shop it was fixed for 30bucks(Butterfly in the maf) So don't think we aren't here to help
It'a true that when you have hard to trouble shoot issues that it is usally better to have a real mechanic fix the car, the cheap xcode readers dont tell you squat but the professional ones are mucvh better, and mechanics are mush better at testing and troubleshooting. I've thrown away lots of money on replacing parts myself and not fixing anything.nom or eof that for me.
