SES light....

My car has been running fine lately...then all of sudden it is hesitating as i accelerate...It feels like someone is stepping on the brake while i accelerate...it only happens at random times...and the SES light just came on... other than that it is running fine...any ideas what it could be...

No guesses allowed.

Check for codes, bring us code numbers, we'll help out.

Re: SES light....

dude you have an adl (assembly line data link) its an electrical socket down on the dash by your knees when sitting in the drivers seat, hook up an OBDII Scan tool and download the codes thats making the SES light come on, and making your car not run right and post the codes here. if you need help, find a member on here by you, or take it to auto zone they will scan it for free if the person doing it knows anything....

it was $900 for a flowmaster catback and a new y pipe and a new cat and 2
O2 sensors and a new fuel filter all installed. i could look for the print up of it but i think it was 60-100 for labor.

Re: SES light....

Took it to Autozone and had it checked. They said it threw a 102. MAF restriction. Checked the filter it is good. Pulled the air intake and their was oil in the MAF screen. I removed the screen and cleaned the MAF with alcohol. I think it must be a bad PCV valve causing the oil problem. Will change it tonight and let you know what happens.. Thanks for the help. Buy the way this is my sons Camaro.

Re: SES light....

The code is P0102. Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input. Any one have a clue?? It is only doing it occasionally. It is usually warm when it happens. The car runs great up until it starts. The motor is a 1998. All the plugs & wires are new. Any ideas?

Thanks

Re: SES light....

Hers an update. Got home today and cranked up the car. No exhaust coming out of the tail pipe. So I take it to the muffler shop and have a new cat installed. Now I have exhaust coming out of the tail pipe. Crank it up to leave and the SES comes on and it does the same hesitation. What can it be.
