the ol 95 3.4 was pinging REALLY bad under load so we follow the instructions on treating the fuel system and the vac line method

cured all signs of ping!

all the crap that came out of the exhaust

Haha, really like the musical accompaniment! Did you have black stuff shoot out the exhaust too?

not that i could see.... but i was in front or in the car

well damn, she said its pinging again, gonna do it again but a little differently, i dont understand how it stopped and then started again

What octane are you running? Mine used to ping too with the stock thermo and stock tune when I ran 87, it would even do it occasionally on 89 if it got above 200°

I have run 92+ in my car practically since I got it, just to make sure I was getting the most performance out of it as possible. Since using the HPP now I run 93+, cheap 92 isn't even enough anymore to keep it from the occasional ping.

And yes, I regularly replace plugs, wires, use seafoam, etc. and my car has always done this the entire 9 years I've had it.

has 91 octane in it right now with a can seafoam mixed in

weird thing is it never used to do this, it started shortly after the cat install

That is weird. I could see if the old cat was clogged it could cause hotter temps and pinging, but shouldn't do it after putting a new one on. It's not running lean is it?

i wouldnt know why it would

if it doesnt work the 2nd time around i want to change the fuel filter and plugs, go from there

Ive never used sea foam before, But i was told you were suppose 2 change the plugs and filter when your gonna use that stuff..
