Scared of New Sound With New Muffler...
Re: Scared of New Sound With New Muffler...
http://video.ls1tech.com/Player.aspx...D&term=3.4&p=0 This is a 3.4L camaro with stock exhaust except for the flowmaster 80 series muffler. It's not 40 series I know but it'll sound around the same.
Re: Scared of New Sound With New Muffler...
I have a series 40 on my 91, and it sounds great (even at high revs). I've been wanting to make a sound clip/video but havn't gotten around to it. I can't comment on before/after sound though because the flowmaster was already on the car when I bought it.

In the end it is still basically a hollow tube with a little baffle around the outside. Kind of like a refined glasspack.

Yeah, I love it when people post "my loudmouth is too loud". Well... you bought an exhaust called loud mouth... Did you expect anything other than a loud exhaust?

Re: Scared of New Sound With New Muffler...
lol....could be either or both..time will tell
i had a turbo car with straight 3" out the side, a bit too loud for the girlfriend's neighbors, so i added a 3" dynomax race bullet and it made it SOOOO much quieter.....i later added another summit turbo muffler for boost control and further noise supression, no one heard me coming anymore

i put a series 80 catback on my car... couldn't stand it...the only suitable bolt on replacement i found is a dynomax 17739...same pipe layout, dimensions, and diameters...this means that you can cut your noise levels in half without losing the pipes...i'm much happier with the dynomax...still sounds like rice above 3k but...the local community appreciates it
let me know what you end up doing

Re: Scared of New Sound With New Muffler...
dont worry, it wont sound like rice above 3k for long, my girl's did for the first few days or week, let it break in, do the old car wash trick (water in hot muffler to break up the glass) if you want
Re: Scared of New Sound With New Muffler...
I'd love to post a video/sound clip, because I'm very happy with what I came out with, but my PC has been having problems. I get this "Win 32: svchost.exe" error. It's causing some things to not work properly, including, not recognizing my camera when I try to capture the video from my camera on Adobe Premire Pro
