Check all the vaccume lines on the top of the motor, there is one in the back that would blow off on mine occasionally and cause similar problems. Its about right of center in very back on the intake manifold. Theres a tee fitting back there. Next check your thottle position sensor and idle air control, intake air, etc. Make sure none of those came loose or broke. Is the light on steady or flashing? If its flashing it is a condition which is damaging your catalytic converter, it is advised not to try to drive the car at all while it is flashing. Either way, you need to get it scanned to see what its telling you. You will need an OBD1 scanner adapted to the port, do a search for shoebox on here, he has a website of massive usefull information for our cars.

Just go over wiring, electrical plugs, vaccume lines, etc and see if its something obvious before you spend any money getting it towed somewhere or trying to get it scanned. Autozone and other parts stores will not be able to scan the car correctly and arent allowed to make the little adapter to do it the right way. You can also pull the hose off the fuel pressure regulator and see if its wet or smells like gas. If it does that is a bad thing, means your regulator diaphram is bad.

Nevermind the OBD1 adapters, I somehow misread and thought yours was a 95. 94 should have the old style plug under the dash. If it has an OBD2 shaped port you'll need the adapter, if its just sqaure, no slanted sides, then its obd1 and wont be that hard to pull the codes yourself.

Get anything figured out with it yet? If your still having problems, and you've checked your plug wires, unplug one plug wire from your coils at a time and start the car, see if it gets worse or stays the same. If no change, shut it off, put that wire back and pull the next one, check again. Do that until you've done all 6. If one or two cylinders or more make no difference in how it runs, take that coil pack off and switch its position with another coil. See if the miss or roughness follows that coil. if it does, replace that coil. If it doesnt, make a diagram of where each coil is and which plug goes in which spot, (not that complicated if you get them mixed up, all you need to know is which order the plug wires should go from left to right.) take the ignition module off that is under the coils, and take it to a parts store to get it tested. That should put you in the right direction. Have you checked your exhaust flow? Noticed anything glowing under the car after it has run for a bit? Car running hot? low on oil or antifreeze? If your not sure on the plug wires/firing order, do a search on here and you will get some diagrams. If you end up needing an engine, I have one in good running condition I would make someone a good deal on if they could come get it. I parked the car when I got my Z.
